Vedic Mathematics - Magical Methods 1

We can simplify most of our mathematical calculations using the magical methods.

In this method I will illustrate the a simple multiplication operation.

Example 1 : 25 X 25

    25 X
    25
 --------
   125
   50
 --------
   625
 ========

Now let us consider how to do this using Magical Method

     25 X
     25
 --------
    625
 ========

Let me explain you how I did this

1. First Multiply the last two digits - this will be the last digits of the product
   ==> here 5 X 5 = 25.


2. Now add one to the top left hand corner digit
   ==> here 2 + 1 = 3


3. Multiply this sum with the left hand bottom digit. This will be the 1st digits of the product
   ==> here 2 X 3 = 6


4. Combine (3) and (1) together to form the product.
   ==> here (6) and (25) ==> 625

To make everything simpler

     2  5 X
    2  5
 --------------------------
 ((2+1) X 2)   (5X5)
 --------------------------
Makes it   (6)  (25)
 ==========================

Let us consider another example

Example 2 : 75 X 75

  525

 ========

Now let us try out the Magical method for this

 ((7+1) X 7)   (5X5)
 --------------------------
Makes it   (56)  (25)

Now let us try out the Magical method for this
